Community Guidelines

Our Community Standard

The Bowling Blueprint exists to improve the sport. Every contribution must move the conversation forward with actionable ideas, not backward with complaints.

Detailed Guidelines

Be Constructive

This is the core principle. Every response you submit should answer the question: "What would you change, and why would it work?" Simply saying "things need to be better" isn't helpful. Explaining how to make things better is.

Share Your Experience

Your unique perspective in the bowling industry is valuable. If you've tried something that worked (or didn't work), share that experience. Real-world evidence makes ideas stronger.

Build on Others' Ideas

When you see a good idea, add to it. Suggest refinements, point out potential challenges (with solutions), or share how it could work differently in your context. Collaboration makes ideas better.

Disagree Respectfully

It's fine to disagree with an idea. When you do, explain why you see it differently and propose an alternative. "I don't think that would work because X, but what about Y instead?" is productive.

Stay Focused

Keep your responses relevant to the specific question being discussed. Off-topic tangents dilute the conversation.

What Gets Removed

Our moderators review every response before it's published. The following will be rejected:

  • Complaints without solutions — "USBC is terrible" or "bowling centers are going downhill" without proposing what to do about it.
  • Personal attacks — Calling out specific individuals or organizations by name in a negative light.
  • Doom and gloom — "Bowling is dying and nothing can save it" adds nothing constructive.
  • Spam or self-promotion — Advertising products, services, or unrelated content.
  • Low-effort responses — "I agree" or "good idea" without adding substance (use the upvote button instead).
  • Off-topic content — Responses that don't address the question being discussed.

Moderation Process

  • First rejection: Your response is rejected with feedback. You're welcome to revise and resubmit.
  • Repeated rejections: If multiple responses are rejected for violating guidelines, a moderator may reach out to clarify expectations.
  • Persistent violations: Accounts that consistently disregard community standards may be suspended.

Our goal is never to punish — it's to maintain a space where constructive ideas thrive. If your response is rejected, take it as an invitation to refine your idea, not as a personal criticism.
